A bridge is used to correct the gap created by a missing tooth or missing teeth. It is made up of two crowns on either side of the gap, with a tooth-like restoration in the gap. Bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants and are typically made of metals, alloys, or porcelain. Porcelain makes the restoration look like real teeth in both shape and color.
A filling can restore a small defect in a tooth, but a crown is the most durable way to restore any tooth that has extensive damage.
